Furleigh Estate is a serious vineyard and winery. It is owned and run by Ian Edwards and Rebecca Hansford with Furleigh being Rebecca’s childhood home. All their wine is made in the purpose-built winery by Ian from grapes grown on the Estate. This means they control all aspects of the wine-making process from, as it were, ground to glass and insist on the highest quality at all stages of production.
Average annual production is around 50,000 bottles of sparkling wine and 10,000 bottles of still wine. The sparkling wines are made in the traditional method using the Champagne grape varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
Their wine is available locally in many wine merchants, delis, farm shops and directly from the Estate, where tours of the vineyard and winery are available. Furleigh Estate wine is also sold around the UK and across the world from Tokyo to Toronto.
